Job Description:

We are looking for a talented engineer to help the rapid growth of our Marketplace and Cloud Platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Cloud Platform), you will help build and run a high-traffic and fast-growing site while being mentored and guided.  Help us push the limits of cloud-based technologies to accelerate our explosive growth.

Responsibilities:

• Build applications and services on top of a distributed cloud architecture, using a combination of NoSQL data solutions, Queueing technologies, and Search infrastructure.

• Design and implement new product features for the marketplace using a highly iterative and data-oriented approach.

• Build, analyze, tune and enhance the core components of the Poshmark product and cloud platform that powers millions of e-commerce transactions.

• Work closely with the product & customer support teams to have a direct impact on our growing business.

6-Month Accomplishments:

• Integrate into Team Posh -- You will focus on building out your working network and get connected with your immediate group, the wider engineering team and the cross-functional teams including Test, Product Management, DevOps etc.

• Learn some amazing technical skills - get familiar with various parts of Poshmark’s Cloud Platform code base and infrastructure.

• Create user-facing impact -- Enhance existing features and build new features within your assigned area of focus on the Cloud Platform team. 

12+ Month Accomplishments:

• Gain execution independence -- design and implementation of new features with a high degree of independence.

• Build domain expertise - become technically knowledgeable in your assigned area of focus.

• Take ownership and responsibility for your designated area of the product, including development, improvement and maintenance of features

Desired Skills: 

• BE or MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent). Solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design

• 4+  years of relevant software engineering experience through projects or internships

• Experience with Amazon AWS or other Cloud Computing platforms is preferred

• Experience with any or all of: Ruby, JRuby, Java, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Linux

• User-oriented focus and obsession with quality

Salary Range:

$133,800.00 - $189,900.00 Annual
