Overview
The responsibilities of the Registered Clinical Dietitian is to create a nutrition plan to improve the health, and wellness of senior residents. Duties include, but are not limited to, analyzing a resident’s health status, goals, and dietary restrictions while maintaining progress and providing educational tools for staff and residents to implement. The Registered Dietitian continually studies emerging trends and stays current on new research related to the practice of dietetics, and educates the culinary staff on pertinent topics related to human nutrition and culinary service. Oversees the nutritional care of residents by performing nutritional assessments, and managing the physician’s orders for therapeutic diets and supplements. Provides nutrition education to residents, attends resident rounds, and maintains clinical nutrition policies.

Qualifications
Education –
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition required (must be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics).
- Current registration status in Michigan. Registered Dietitian license/certification, required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide nutrition services appropriate to senior residents.
- Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well the laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing care facilities.
Computer Skills-
- Efficient Computer knowledge and use of Microsoft products, word processing, spreadsheets database systems, time keeping systems, online learning systems, email and all other computer generated systems.
Licenses, Certificates & Registrations:
- Registered with the American Dietetic Association and State licensure as a Dietitian or Nutritionist.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
