About the role

The Global Legal Affairs & Compliance (GLAC) Chief of Staff Office is responsible for  leading the development and execution of key initiatives and priorities for the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) & Corporate Secretary to drive functional success and support the CLO. The Chief of Staff team executes against multiple projects, while supporting day-to-day management of the Office of the CLO and standardization / effective execution of processes across GLAC.

The SVP will support the GLAC Chief of Staff across a variety of activities including preparation for GLAC events and communications, leadership meetings, CLO domestic and international travel, board and management meetings, and other projects. This individual must have a keen focus on forward planning and take a proactive approach to preparing for longer term projects and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Support the GLAC Chief of Staff in driving the planning and execution of strategic initiatives from end-to-end, including the development of content and materials, coordination with senior management and subject matter experts to achieve desired outcomes

  • Build relationships across GLAC functions and key partner organizations to help drive strategic priorities and ensure flow of internal discussions and communications

  • Participate in the operating rhythms and routines for Office of the CLO, inclusive of weekly, monthly and quarterly routines, with clear objectives and governance structures with key stakeholders

  • Develop presentations, talking points & briefing materials as required – synthesizing and summarizing information from across businesses and functions to provide critical information to the CLO

  • Support the organization and management of the CLO’s Office, such as coordination of complex travel, external engagements, correspondences and tracking agendas and progress against project plans

  • Maintain a high level of integrity when working with complex and confidential information

  • Manage miscellaneous matters, including maintaining Office of the CLO informational documents, and processing various administrative requests

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience

  • Highly motivated strategic thinker, with exceptional organizational skills and collaborative, team-oriented skills

  • An “entrepreneurial” mindset:  Success in this role requires high intellectual curiosity and the ability to identify and bring on partners to complete a given task

  • A high degree of drive, self-motivation, and persistence. Willingness to "roll up sleeves" and a strong work ethic are key to success

  • Ability to thoughtfully and succinctly convey information:  A core component of the role’s responsibilities involves conveying information to a wide array of highly senior executives. 

  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to tailor the level of detail to the intended audience

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment. Special project work is often time-sensitive

  • A strong work ethic and the ability to identify project goals and resources required to meet them quickly, while maintaining consistency in results is key

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, with ability to build effective, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization

  • Exceptional ability to work in a team environment, supporting and focusing on the collective success of the office.  It will be important to have a positive attitude and willingness/ability to pick up work quickly when/where needed

  • A high degree of integrity, professionalism, self-awareness and partnership

Education

  • Bachelor’s/University degree required

  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree is preferred
