YOUR ROLE Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will assist in supporting the day-to-day accounting of GivePower. This includes the GivePower subsidiaries in Colombia, Kenya, and Haiti. The Staff Accountant will interact with multiple departments and work in a fast-paced and constantly growing environment. In addition to closing the books according to prescribed deadlines, the Staff Accountant supports the organization with strong communication, attention to detail and a desire to constantly improve the accounting department.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with the Controller and subsidiary accounting teams to ensure monthly close is timely and accurate
- Assist with inventory management and the daily manufacturing transactions at GivePower
- Supervise accounts payable to ensure payments are entered and paid in a timely manner
- Routinely oversee donor invoicing, accounts receivable, collection efforts, and related reporting to management
- Ensure all cash accounts are routinely reconciled
- Audit and review expense reports for GivePower and subsidiaries
- Ensure reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Support fixed assets, ad-hoc reporting, and annual audit
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or with a concentration in accounting
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment or nonprofit space preferred
- Strong Excel skills, with intermediate level pivot table and understanding of formulas
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
- Can easily build rapport and work comfortably with team members, vendors and donors
- Highly resourceful with the ability to work independently
- Exercising sound judgment, ability to ask questions and communicate issues as encountered
