Syngenta Seeds is headquartered in the United States.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p><strong>Role purpose:</strong></p><p>The purpose of the Breeder assistant is to assist scientifically Regional Corn Germplasm Development Leads in their roles to create superior products by implementing innovative breeding Methods. This role is dedicated to plan and coordinate breeding activities cross region/territories, supporting material selection for advancement by contributing to Inbred and hybrid Phenotyping, data analysis, implementing marker and predictive breeding technology.</p><p><strong>Accountabilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Plan and design experiments, develop data summaries, interpret results, and make appropriate conclusions and recommendations</li><li>Prepare technical reports or data summaries. May communicate reports via oral presentations to peers</li><li>Functions as a member of a project/product team (Regional / Global)</li><li>Participate to the selections and advancement decisions through the whole stage plan.</li><li>Implement where appropriate marker-assisted breeding (MAB), genomic selectin (GS), and other breeding tools</li><li>Plan and ensure that appropriate trialing, phenotyping and analysis methods are used to enable program success</li><li>Active participation in field data collection and trialing related operational activities such as planting, pollination, harvest</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>Skills & experience:</strong></p><ul><li>BSc/MSc in agronomy and/or biotechnology</li><li>Agricultural background</li><li>Advanced English (written and spoken) knowledge and Hungarian is a must</li><li>Russian/Ukrainian knowledge is an advantage</li><li>High level of computer skills, MS Excel (using different formulas, conditional formatting, creating graphs and charts), MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Power BI is a great advantage</li><li>Ability of learning new thing</li><li>Capacity and interest to work in open field environment</li><li>Ready for traveling inside and outside Hungary</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p><strong>We offer:</strong></p><ul><li>Annual bonuses</li><li>A competitive pension fund plan</li><li>Company car</li><li>Learning opportunities, career development</li><li>A position that contributes to valuable and impactful work in a stimulating and international environment</li></ul><p>Syngenta is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in recruitment, hiring, training, promotion or any other employment practices for reasons of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, marital or veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.</p>
