Cybersecurity Operations Team Lead
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.
The Cybersecurity Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing cybersecurity operations and engineering efforts, including vulnerability management, incident response, intrusion detection, forensic analysis, cloud security, and continuous monitoring. This role serves as a key liaison with federal stakeholders, manages team priorities, and ensures compliance with federal standards including NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Cybersecurity Operations Team Lead: $141K - $151K annual salary
Pay commensurate with experience.

Cybersecurity Operations Team Lead Responsibilities Include:
- Lead a multidisciplinary cybersecurity team, providing mentorship and oversight.
- Coordinate operations including vulnerability assessments, incident handling, and forensic investigations.
- Manage cloud security tools such as AWS GuardDuty, KMS, and Web Application Firewalls.
- Support IG Monitoring, NIST Cybersecurity Framework activities, and FedRAMP readiness.
- Oversee continuous monitoring efforts and deliver accurate reporting on threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance.
- Collaborate across contractors and agencies to align cybersecurity activities and resolve escalated issues.
- Ensure timely and effective response to security events and implement proactive improvements.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Cybersecurity Operations Team Lead Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of cybersecurity experience
- Security+ certification
- CISSP, CISM, or GSEC certification
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in a federal environment and working with tools such as Splunk, McAfee ePO, FireEye, and Tenable
- PMP, CEH, or CISA certification preferred
- Experience with Managed Security Services and NOC support preferred
- Familiarity with federal cyber compliance reporting and audits preferred
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
