Job role

The Group Technology (GT) – ITCo & Global Programs department represents the interests of the Allianz Group and the Group COO and takes over the steering of the Operating Entities (OEs) towards Operations and IT Group Strategy.

As member in the Global IT Portfolio Management team you are responsible to actively drive the alignment and consistency of the group’s IT Project Portfolio with the defined Operations & IT strategy with focus on IT Economics. In the team you are particularly responsible for the quarterly as well as yearly financials reporting cycles and its adherence to scope, time, quality as well as benefit realization. In addition, you will work on further improve data delivery processes and tooling.

What you will do

• Manage all activities needed to execute the IT Project Portfolio Management process
• Continuous improvement the existing IT Project Portfolio Management processes (e.g., definitions and guidelines, data provisioning, data quality review)
• Manage the existing application Wave to systematically report and track the Group portfolio, benefits and related KPIs
• Create and execute required training and information materials for the OEs to support them in the IT Project Portfolio Steering process
• Actively ensure that critical topics are identified and analyzed (identify issues, analyze their root causes and their impact, e.g., on financials, timeline, scope), recommend and push for appropriate measures to get activities back-on track
• Monitor the Group IT Project Portfolio and projects and support the OE managers to perform program-/project reviews of our largest IT programs including all relevant aspects of the value or delivery chain
• Manage an effective and efficient collaboration between OEs (or regions), Allianz SE, and its shared services provider AZ Technology

 

What you bring

• Academic background Economics, Business Administration or IT (diploma or master’s degree)
• Theoretical as well as practical experience in one of the main project management frameworks ideally with a certification (e.g. PMI, PRINCE2, and/or SAFe)
• Excellent MS-Office skills in particular MS Excel and MS Power Point
• Experience with SAP Integrated Planning preferred
• VBA and Power BI skills a plus
• Very good English skills (written and spoken), additional languages a plus

 

 

You have

• More than 5-years work experience in Operations and IT in the financial industry or IT consulting
• Good understanding of the insurance industry with proven experience of international project management within large and complex IT projects (system implementation/ integration programs, IT transformation)
• Very good understanding of Operations and IT and their interrelation with business
• Excellent understanding of financial and operational steering, KPIs and their impacts
• Very good knowledge regarding IT project portfolio management solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate financial topics for a non-finance audience
• Highly self-driven and proactive mindset
• Business maturity and ability to interact effectively with C-Level (COO, CIO, CTO …) and other senior stakeh
