Job Description:

This position manages the installation, repairs, and modifications to HVAC and refrigeration equipment and electronic and pneumatic control systems, including preventative maintenance duties. 

Job Duties:

45%- Manages, supervises, and delegates job duties for subordinate personnel and outside contractors/vendors in the maintenance, repair, and renovation of HVAC systems, including oversight and operation of Energy and Automation Management systems. Maintains records incidental to all HVAC activities. 

10%- Assist in directing purchasing and requisitioning of adequate inventories of supplies, materials and equipment. Approves purchasing requests up to approved limits. 

10%- Conducts maintenance, construction, and vendor meetings for facility related problems, issues, and concerns as needed. Works with other Facility Managers to ensure problems, issues, and concerns are addressed in a timely manner. 

10%- Reviews and evaluates subordinates' personnel performance. Implements and directs training and safety programs for all subordinate personnel. 

10%- Meets with departments as required to achieve desired comfort levels.

10%- Advises and recommends to agency management the maintenance, repair, and renovation issues requiring significant resources; staffing and monetary impact. 

5%- Performs other duties as assigned by the department, including on-call and emergency work when required. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Five years of experience in the building construction trades; building construction; building maintenance; or road or bridge construction or maintenance.
 
SUBSTITUTIONS
Completion of a two-year training program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus three years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance OR

Eighteen semester hours in a construction field or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance.
