Financial Controller 

 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Regional Finance, the Financial Controller supports financial reporting and decision-making for multiple regional entities. This role requires strong business acumen to interpret both operational and accounting details, ensuring a deep understanding of financial processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical, with a keen ability to uncover insights. With a strong sense of accountability, they take pride in delivering accurate, timely financial outputs that drive business success. 

 

Responsibilities:  

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations, financial reporting and general ledger structure for multiple reporting entities  

• Enhance the existing general and subsidiary ledger account reconciliation processes ·  

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules  

• Support the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance accounting and financial reporting capabilities  

• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed, actively participate in day-to-day Treasury activities  

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve business results  

• Champion an effective control environment, including the use of proper accounting methods, policies and principles  

• Assist in the preparation of client schedules and coordination of annual external audit and internal audits  

• Partner with the sales and marketing functions via business decision making and strategic planning support  

• Special projects, ad hoc analysis, and workflow process improvements as required  

• Develop subject matter expertise in JD Edwards and other supporting applications  

•  Perform other duties as required 

 

 More about you:  

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with reporting responsibility for one or more entities in a multi-national organization 

• Time-management, organizational skills, and strict attention to detail  

•  Must exhibit strong sense of ownership, accountability, and desire to excel 

• Solid understanding of IFRS accounting principles 

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal 

• Leadership Competencies Demonstrated ability to lead projects or teams, even if no direct-reporting relationship 

 

 

A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova
