<p>MetroStar is seeking a highly skilled <strong>Sr.</strong> <strong>Part-Time Linux Systems Engineer I </strong>to serve as the primary technical owner for enterprise Linux and on-premises infrastructure environments supporting mission-critical federal operations. Value for our customers.</p> <p>If you think you can see yourself delivering our mission and pursuing our goals with us, then check out the job description below!</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux servers across production and non-production environments.</li> <li>Provision, configure, and decommission physical and virtual servers within enterprise data center environments.</li> <li>Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to ensure maximum uptime and operational reliability.</li> <li>Lead operating system patch management activities, including testing, scheduling, deployment, validation, and reporting of security and OS updates.</li> <li>Implement and maintain security hardening standards, vulnerability remediation efforts, and compliance requirements.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving Linux operating systems, hardware, networking, storage, and virtualization technologies.</li> <li>Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve system stability and prevent recurring issues.</li> <li>Automate routine administration tasks such as provisioning, patching, monitoring, and reporting to improve efficiency and consistency.</li> <li>Maintain monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery solutions that support resilient operations.</li> <li>Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, system builds, operational procedures, and technical documentation.</li> <li>Partner with cybersecurity, networking, and operations teams to support mission requirements and infrastructure initiatives.</li> <li>Provide technical recommendations to leadership regarding infrastructure upgrades, modernization efforts, and operational improvements.</li> <li>Maint
