About the role

Chubb Commercial Insurance is currently seeking an AVP Equipment Breakdown Underwriter to join the CI Property Line of Business team.

Responsibilities:

The Equipment Breakdown Complex Account book consists of large healthcare, manufacturing, food, utilities, lumber, etc. accounts.  As the Complex Account Underwriter, the responsibilities include managing and servicing the approximate $21M renewal portfolio along with quoting new business and managing agency relationships.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and building upon agency relationships through regular travel and communication, exceptional service and industry knowledge & expertise 
  • P&L - Accountability (premium, profitability, growth, retention, and expense plans/results) for the assigned book
  • Develop and negotiate price, coverage, terms and conditions on the renewal book including new business opportunities.
  • Underwriting Strategy Execution – Manages the execution of CI Equipment Breakdown strategies and overall portfolio management of the assigned book of business.
  • Analyzes and manages large, complex Equipment Breakdown risk exposures.
  • Collaboration with underwriting including Complex Property Team, operations, claims and risk engineering in order to effectively service book of business. 
  • Work closely with Territory Underwriting Manager to deliver Equipment Breakdown specific training & mentoring.

•    Minimum 5-7 years of Equipment Breakdown underwriting experience. 
•    Understanding of CI Equipment Breakdown products and appetite
•    Strong technical/underwriting leadership skills
•    Advanced marketing and negotiation skills

•    Drives execution.
•    Position requires regular travel (25%)
