This advertisement is for a full-time, Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in Facilities Management and Building Construction.   

 

Salary: $55,000.14- $60,000.20 annually

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

This is a responsible financial management position that assists the Assistant Bureau Chief in a wide range of administrative, consultative, operating and reporting functions. The position is responsible for work involving the independent application of financial management concepts, principles, theory, and technical skills in accordance with sound management principles and practices.  Provides liaison between the finance and accounting section, budget, and maintenance and construction.  This position will manage the bureau’s databases for statewide construction and maintenance activities and projects.   

 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Primary responsibility will be to manage Fixed Capital Outlay projects and maintain the divisions maintenance and construction projects databases.  Track and provide project status updates of all projects included in each line-item appropriation of the appropriations act for all Department of Corrections projects.  Compares and analyzes data monthly for allocations in FLAIR, verifying accuracy of data and prepares reports.  Takes a lead role in gathering, analyzing, and organizing data for updating the bureaus’ electronic files.  Applies research techniques, including problem definition and formulates recommendations for the sections electronic data processing systems. Takes a lead role in the preparation of the FCO Budget request, operational plans and formulates recommendations for the electronic data and software application. 

 

  • Monitors allocations, funding, disbursement, reconciliation, and required financial reporting.  Participates in establishment of financial objectives and measures for the Division of Facilities Management & Building Construction. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, public administration, communications, writing or a related area and three (3) years of similar work experience; OR eight (8) years of similar work-related experience.
  • FLAIR Experience
  • MFMP Experience
  • Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM)

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in construction and/or maintenance cost accounting.
  • Experience in preparing financial management reports and reconciliation of accounts.<
