$22.50 - $33.75JOB SUMMARY
Identifies, collects and maintains timely, accurate and complete cancer information following the standards and requirements of accrediting agencies.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in Cancer Information Management or another health related field. Completion of college level Anatomy and Physiology I & II and Medical Terminology I & II.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or attainment of certification within one year of hire required. RHIT, RHIA preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs case ascertainment to maintain a complete registry database.
- Collects clinical data in accordance with the American College of Surgeons and the state cancer registry established data sets.
- Performs life-time follow-up on a monthly basis to assess outcome data.
- Performs at established quantitative work standards to meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Performs at established qualitative work standards to meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Promotes registry development.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Computer application skills
- Data entry/typing (45 wpm) skills
- Ability to work independently
- Concentration and continuous use of independent judgment
- Ability to work with time constraints in order to meet abstracting and follow-up monthly deadlines
