Temporary Medical Scribe serves as a liaison between the Provider, clinical staff, administrative staff, and the patient.CORPORATE PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT:

HIPAA SECURITY COMPLIANCE:
Security Access: High “Incumbent has access to restricted or confidential patient information and must comply with the terms of the Mercy Clinics, Inc./Mercy Medical Center Security Policies as it applies to their job role.”
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares the progress note for the patient visit by manually bringing in provider-built AEHR documentation tools for the following sections: history of present illness, review of system, physical exam, assessment and plan based on nature of the visit.
- Document subjective information prior to physician arrival.
- Enter data into the patient electronic medical records while physician is examining the patient.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Understand and demonstrate compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Follows clinic procedure/protocol for the organization and management of the electronic medical record.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work includes cross coverage in other clinic areas as team needs.
- Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies in various work areas.
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities as appropriate.
- Maintains orderly, neat appearance of work area.
- Miscellaneous office skills (i.e. copying, filing, business English, spelling, office equipment and basic computer skills.
- Attend any educational seminars as requested.
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned by Clinic Manager or providers.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience with transcription preferred.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
