About the role

    • Position Summary
    • Multiple temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant positions are available. Serves as a Learning Commons student assistant for the front desk - the connection, communication, and clerical hub of services and operations.     • Start Date
    • Position available on or after January 20, 2025 and ending on or before May 31, 2024. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.


    • Job Description/Duties
    •  Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Greets guests and route to the appropriate department/staff.
      • Assist with filing and tracking using paper and electronic systems
      • Assist with running errands to other buildings/departments.
      • Assist with data entry.
      • Assist with answering phones, emails and routing inquires to the appropriate staff in a professional manner.
      • Assists with referring students to other campus and community resources.
        Assist with logistics for meetings, outreach and events.
      • Assists with development of marketing materials and social media connections.
      • Communicates and works with teams to complete projects.
      • Assist students in scheduling appointments and responding to inquires using our learning center management platform, StanTutor.
      • Monitor and assist with any questions asked.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      • Demonstrates ability to work 10-20 hours per week.
      • Demonstrates ability to follow directions.
      • Demonstrates ability to work with a diverse population.
      • Demonstrates working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
      • Demonstrates ability to market, promote and encourage use of services.
      • Ability to work remotely from home and have reliable internet (if needed).

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.


    • Salary Range
    • $16.50 - $18.50 per hour ($16.50 per hour is the starting pay rate for new employees)
