About the role

A Carter Lumber Manufacturing Development Associate is responsible for learning all facets of the manufacturing environment to retain for future implementation and support. This position will focus on several areas including Carters Lumbers manufacturing process, product knowledge, scheduling, applicable software, inventory, safety, general management and other areas as defined by the manufacturing team. When the associate has acquired the necessary knowledge and shows the ability to apply it to day-to-day operations, the selected candidate will be considered for placement at a Carter Lumber manufacturing facility in a management capacity. 

Responsibilities
  • Learn the day-to-day operations of managing a Carter Lumber manufacturing facility.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Carter Lumber’s Manufacturing process and associated systems.
  • Exposure to daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and understand how they apply to the business
  • Observe and assist in developing action plans that address areas for improvement in both process & profitability

  • Overnight and/or extended weekly travel will be required
