Summary:


Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart has an exciting opportunity, perfect for a new or developing communications professional who will support the school’s internal and external communications activities. This highly visible role will interface with employees, parents, students, and school partners and work across functions to help deliver a cohesive message to all stakeholders. Duties will be diverse and require excellent writing/editing, interpersonal, detail-orientation, project management, and organizational skills. Primary Responsibilities:


· Working alongside School Leadership, create a 12-month communications plan that supports the work of each division of school and proactively engage key stakeholders.

· In collaboration with Enrollment Management, increase brand awareness by reviewing and adapting to SEO and SEM trends.

· Write and/or edit content for emails, annual reports, course catalogs, auction catalogs, new family guides, web pages, foundation requests, and more.

· Manage web pages on a routine basis by adding new photos, removing out of date information, and replacing them with current information.

· Work closely with internal departments, especially Enrollment Management and Advancement, to understand needs for communications and the work of each department.

· Utilize a ticketing system that tracks workflow and ensures compliance with expectations and deadlines.

· Obtain necessary consent and secure final approval on all marketing collateral, products, and promotions.

· Manage crisis communications related to weather, health, and safety events.

· Communicate clearly and creatively with the Duchesne community by standardizing the parent portal experience and ensuring updates are made weekly.

· Provide communications counsel to the Head of School. 

· Track and manage the communications budget.

· Manage media contacts.


Minimum Education/Prior Experience/Qualifications Required


· Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field.

· Marketing or advertising background, with at least 2 years of experience in the field.

· Proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and Canva.

· Two years of experience writing and copy editing, with an eye for detail.

· Familiarity with various CMS and digital asset management software (experience with FinalSite, Vidigami, and Veracross is a plus).

· Experience working in private schools, school systems, or non-profit environments is a plus.

· Strong references to convey professional abilities.

Upon Hiring


· Completion of Safe Environment Training.

· Current CPR certification. 

· Successful completion of criminal offender record information and sexual offender registry information checks.
