About the role

Summary

The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Program Management. This position is responsible for administering the PhD completion process, graduation activities, and collection and analysis of outcomes data with the Graduate School and its associated educational programs. 

Job Duties

• Provides technical academic advice to students pertaining to PhD completion activities and graduation.
• Counsels students on degree completion procedures including submission of PhD theses, provides solutions to problems, offer alternatives, and makes requests to the appropriate office or faculty.  
• Provides back-up material and documentation on matters relating to students, courses, graduation and commencement.  
• Informs students and faculty of deadlines for filing forms and graduation materials related to student programs.  
• Coordinates student and faculty participation in the college commencement ceremony. 
• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of curricula, academic practices and procedures.  Informs graduate program of guidelines that need to be enforced or changed.
• Maintains graduation records on students.  Collects and assembles outcomes data from students, postdoctoral fellows and alumni, and prepares reports. May develop databases and participate in planning meetings for education, outcomes, and research training projects. Analyzes data and makes recommendations.
• Participates in assembling data for training grant proposals to federal agencies and private foundations.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree. Four years of relevant work-related experience in an academic setting can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
