General Description:
This program is designed to provide the training and opportunity to professionally develop individuals who have a desire to become an Industrial Electrician. As an Industrial Electrician Trainee, you will be responsible for learning and demonstrating your knowledge of a specified curriculum of training. You will support the manufacturing process by trouble shooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of all tire-related manufacturing, processing machinery and equipment. You will also be responsible for related safety and housekeeping throughout the facility.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Participate and successfully complete our Trainee program which will provide knowledge and experience in the following areas:Perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of equipment to ensure optimum operating conditions and uptime across all related crafts
- Knowledge of machine shop equipment, electronic industrial systems, PLCs, variable frequency drives, servo drives, power distribution, instrumentation, preventative maintenance, human machine interfaces, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Abide by safe work standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), NFPA 70E (Arc flash)
- Adhere to Goodyear's attendance policy
- Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods of time, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable
- Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain machines and drive power distribution systems, instrumentation, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems
- Perform PLC maintenance issues
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic and other mechanical issues
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, maintenance manuals and manufacturing specifications
- Cut, form, thread, fit and install piping for air, water, steam, oil nitrogen, gas, and other lines
- Prepare and weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions with multiple technologies
- Log or use computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed
- Other general responsibilities:
Basic Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment criteria
- Ability to work any and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable
- Basic computer skills
- Must provide basic tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Verifiable completion of electrician/electrical technical training and some Industrial Maintenance experience in an electrician role
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic electrician subject areas to include Lockout/tagout, PLCs, AC/DC theory, motors and controls and interpreting wiring diagrams/blueprints
- Experience adhering to industry-specific safety standards
