Our flagship product, the NodeZeroTM platform, delivers production-safe autonomous pentests and other key assessment operations that scale across the largest internal, external, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. As a remote first company, we require minimum 25Mbps consumer grade broadband connection.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Manager, Engineering at Horizon3.ai, you will lead the growth and execution of critical engineering teams that power our autonomous pentesting platform, NodeZero. This manager-of-managers role involves scaling technical leadership across backend systems, offensive content, and defensive automation, while aligning closely with product and go-to-market strategy.

• Engineering Leadership Across Domains: Oversee engineering managers across multiple teams, including Application Platform (backend systems, ETL pipelines, and data flow), Proactive Offense (attack content development), or Precision Defense (defensive content and detections).

• Product-Driven Development: Partner with Product and GTM teams to drive delivery of MVPs and POCs that translate real-world security insights into scalable platform features.

• Team & Talent Growth: Hire and develop technical leaders and engineers, ensuring team structures that enable high velocity, strong ownership, and deep domain expertise.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead pods of backend, security, and infrastructure engineers, bridging offensive and defensive capabilities to drive measurable customer outcomes.

This role is key to advancing Horizon3.ai’s mission of delivering continuous, autonomous security at scale.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in leading engineering teams, with a strong track record of building and launching new products in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Highly technical background with expertise in software development, cybersecurity, and B2B SaaS multi-product platforms.

• Demonstrated ability to take products from concept to market, including the development of POCs, MVPs, and GTM strategies.

• Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and use effective judgment in prioritization and time management.

• Creative, self-motivated, highly energetic, detail and results-oriented.

• Experience collaborating with designers, developers, and product managers.

• Excellent analytical/problem-solving ability.

• A positive attitude, and a desire to build accessible products for all users.

• Ability to understand the product, its logs, and troubleshoot errors.

• Strong technical documentation and communication.

• Strong ability to identify procedural gaps, implement engineering best practicies, and streamline and empower the team to build the best new products at a high velocity.

Required Tech Stack Experience

• Subject matter expert on platform design and flow

• Knowledge or awareness of the following: Multiple Operating systems (Kali, Ubuntu, Windows)

• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and their related services such as AWS, Azure, GCP

• Databases such as Neo4j and Postgresql

• Bash, ruby, Python, and LUA scripting languages

• Cyber security related certifications/designations (or equivalent experience), such as:

  • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
