By developing innovative solutions such as smart connectors for mooring and power, real-time AI-based wave prediction, and digital twin-based health monitoring, the project aims to overcome technical and economic challenges in wave energy. These technologies, supported by a techno-economic optimization framework, are designed to improve the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of ocean energy systems and support the transition to a cleaner energy future. HPE is contributing its expertise in advanced control (reinforcement learning), forecasting, and digital twin technology to help drive the successful commercialization of this cutting-edge renewable energy solution.</span></span></span></span></p><p></p><p><b>Start/End Date</b>: October 2025 to September 2028 (3 Years)</p><p><b>Location: </b>Galway / Dublin</p><p><b>Mandatory Requirements:</b> PhD degree (or Master's with equivalent research and innovation experience)</p><p></p><p><span><span><span><span><b>What we are looking for:</b></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span>Hewlett Packard Labs is currently seeking a highly qualified, self-motivated machine learning/AI researcher to be part of a new and growing AI research team in Ireland, to accelerate research towards various applications of digital twins incorporating Machine Learning. </span></span></span></span></p><p></p><p><span><span><span><span><b>Hewlett Packard Labs</b> is an international research organization with its headquarters and largest facility located in Silicon Valley, California. AIRL's research focuses on Reinforcement Learning applications in sustainability, digital twins, complex scientific applications (like fusion energy), LLMs, trustworthy and responsible AI, and the data foundation infrastructure for AI. Our team is diverse, with a broad range of skill sets and expertise that enables the exploration of innovative ideas that are not possible in monolithic research organizations.</span></span></span></span><br/> </p><p><span><span><span><span>We are seeking highly qualified candidates to join our team as a machine learning research engineer. We are interested in individuals with a background in machine learning, time series analysis, reinforcement learning and Digitial twins. Digital twin applications require a strong engineering background with an aptitude to model physical systems. The ideal candidate demonstrates an entrepreneurial interest in creating new products and technologies with a fluency in system level analysis and design. </span></span></span></span><br/> </p><p><span><span><span><span>We expect all our team members to provide thought leadership and technical influence internally and externally, take innovative ideas and make them real – contributing along the full range from conception, to design, development, implementation, evaluation, and technology transfer.
