Position Overview
Plan, direct, and coordinate the storage, inventory distribution and movement of product within an organization or the activities of organizations that are engaged in storing and distributing materials and products
Responsibilities
- Supervise the activities of warehouse employees to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient operations related to warehouse and shipping processes. This will include training and assigning work as needed.
- Ensure departmental compliance to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate, schedule and monitor the activities required for on-time and accurate delivery of customer orders.
- Respond to customer questions and complaints regarding shipping processes.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as production and customer service, to ensure we are meeting customer expectations.
- Inspect physical conditions of warehouse and equipment, ensure maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary.
- Ensure warehouse processes are being followed to facilitate effective inventory control.
- Prepare and organize all documentation relating to shipments.
- Make recommendations for optimizing warehouse and shipping processes to meet cost, quality, and delivery expectations.
- Additional duties my be assigned based on department needs.
Qualifications
Should have knowledge of shipping principles, freight rates, local and national carriers, laws, rules and regulations as they relate to area, inventory procedures, billing procedures.
