Senior Associate - Disability Claims Group Membership

Location Designation: Hybrid - 1 day per week

This position primarily involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday / on site: Wednesday. 

 

Responsible for evaluating and determining the liability and eligibility for initial and ongoing disability benefits.

Effectively manage claims of varying complexity.

Effectively manage a case load of approximately 125 to 150 claims.

Adjudicate HIP, Office Overhead and Critical Illness claims.

Utilize appropriate resources in the management of each claim.

Meet timeliness standards in relation to communications and claim management activities.

 

Requirements: 

 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with 5+ years of Disability Claim Experience
• Technically competent in the use of all Microsoft products, Word, Excel etc.
• Ability to work independently as well as in group setting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills are required as well as the ability to effectively communicate with physicians, attorneys, administrators, and claimants verbally and in writing. 
• Must be able to accurately interpret policy provisions and apply such provisions appropriately to each claim situation.   
• Solid problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Strong research skills are necessary when managing complex claims.

Salary range: $65,000-$95,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt
