Overview

The Data & Services team is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing the cutting-edge services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include payments-focused consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business Test & Learn experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services.

Mastercard’s Data & Services Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, backup and support of multiple on-premise and cloud hosted data centers. In this role, you will lead and given given the ownership and resources to solve challenging technical problems. Principal Systems Engineer – Data & Services

• Builds, implements, and maintains support for Mastercard's systems/platforms for performance, efficiency, and capacity by analyzing and testing the facilities, and identifying/diagnosing performance issues (eg, middleware, compute & storage)

Responsibilities
• Leads initiatives to build and maintain system and platform technologies and environments, seeking opportunities for improvements and efficiencies

• Drives the complete lifecycle management process to design and renew platforms

• Manages the deployment of software and hardware solutions that are optimally standardized and system/platform updates to meet project deliverables

• Leads holistic platform security posture, which includes proactively identifying security risks and implementing both risk mitigation plans and control functions

• Designs and implements process improvement efforts to identify and test opportunities for automation and/or reduction in time to deployment

• Oversees the resolution of chronic complex problems to prevent future system and platform performance issues

• May perform financial planning, forecasting, and budget tracking to reduce total cost of ownership and allocate resources efficiently

• Mentors and coaches staff by providing training to develop technical skills and capabilities across the organization

• Experience leading large cross-functional initiatives, often partnering with internal customers across development verticals, expected to provide project direction and technical expertise
• Extensive experience leading the day-to-day global technology domains and sub-domains, driving deliverables and setting priorities and objectives
