Job Title: Instructor, Ops Sr. Staff

Job Summary/Purpose                                                                           

Develop NRC Written Exam questions, Job Performance Measures (JPMs) and simulator operating exam scenarios in accordance with NUREG-1021 and Entergy procedures.                                                                                    

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work closely with NRC examiners during validation process of written and operating exams to ensure approval and validity for licensing. 
  • Examine, remediate and evaluate student performance during training and evaluation activities and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training materials and programs using systematic approach to training.
  • Administers and coordinates training programs for sites and corporate groups as assigned.
  • Administers training programs to ensure the availability of qualified non-licensed operators.
  • Interfaces with line personnel to analyze performance needs and recommend appropriate training solutions.

                                                                                                 

Minimum Requirements                                      

Minimum education required of the position.

Desired: B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent.

Minimum experience required of the position.

At least 5 years of front-line experience (commercial or military) and technical proficiency in instruction -AND- current or previously SRO licensed or certified with 2 years as a fully qualified instructor to include simulator floor instructor qualification -OR- 2 years on shift SRO licensed experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position.                               

Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred 

  • Knowledge of NUREG-1021, "Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors". 
  • Experience developing and administering examinations for licensed operator programs.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position.

Required: SRO license or certification on BWR, PWR or both. Note: Operations instructors require an SRO license or Certification on the applicable unit prior to teaching Licensed Operators.
