The Custodial Worker 2 will complete assigned project work that will assist the Student Life Environmental Services Department in providing a clean and safe environment for the members and guests of Student Life facilities. This position is responsible for day-to-day janitorial duties as well as projects involved with maintaining a recreation facility; cleans restrooms, locker rooms, offices, activity spaces and public use areas; cleans doors, walls, mirrors and light fixtures; operates cleaning equipment; maintains hard floors, wooden floors and carpets; moves furniture, washes windows, removes trash, collects recyclables, clears snow, cleans building entrances and walkways; sweeps, mops, strips, waxes, polishes, and renews floor surfaces; cleans and shampoos rugs and carpets; washes walls, windows and light fixtures; cleans, dusts, empties trash receptacles; reports need for equipment repair and supply replenishment; reports evidence of fire or damage, illegal entry and theft; could potentially operate carpet extractor, floor burnisher/buffer, walk behind or ride-on auto scrubber, and /or various other types of cleaning equipment; maintains high levels of cleanliness and service in the building; this is a 24 hour/7 day a week operations work hours will be 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; weekend and holiday work is required; this position will be primarily responsible for Ohio Union, or Dining areas but may be required to work in any Environmental Services department/building from district to district per operational needs; may also be assigned project work and/or special assignments. The Custodial Worker 2 must successfully complete and pass the CMI Basic Module training and exam during their probationary period-failure to do so may result in probationary removal.

Required Qualifications
Required: Per CCS specifications; Six months in Custodial Worker 1 title or equivalent experience; documentation of successful completion of department specific, advanced custodian certification testing (examples include Cleaning Management Institute, 3M(TM), S.M.A.R.T. Program, or other certification program recognized in the cleaning industry as reputable); ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide whole numbers and to read and write common vocabulary plus.
Desired: Experience (1 year) of institutional or large facility cleaning; experience (1 year) in operation of carpet extractor, floor burnisher/buffer, walk behind or ride-on auto scrubber, and/or various other types of cleaning equipment; ability to lift and/or move furniture; ability to lift 25 to 75 pounds.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $16.40 - $21.32 based on prior work experience. This position is eligible for shift differential pay.
