Human Resources Analyst Intermediate

Job Summary:This position resides in the Human Resources Branch and reports directly to the Senior Human Resources Manager. The Department’s workforce consists of approximately 623 employees. The individual in this position will provide professional level human resources work in a variety of functional areas within the Human Resources division in support of the Department and its employees.
Job Duties:This position will perform professional level human resources work in a variety of functional areas within the Human Resources division. Their primary responsibilities will include the review and processing of FMLA and medical leave requests in addition to requests for modified duty and/or accommodation under the ADA. Additionally, this position will provide administrative support to the Human Resources division through a variety of tasks to include APP entries, ordering supplies, division inventory control, reconciliation of invoices, travel coordination and reimbursement requests. This position will be responsible for coordinating the CDL requirements to include compliance and random drug and alcohol screenings.
Major responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Review and process requests for FMLA, medical leave, modified duty and ADA requests. Answers questions from staff and stakeholders pertaining to leave and/or accommodation requests. Provides staff with appropriate documentation pertaining to their leave and maintains records.
- Provide administrative support for the HR section to include accounting functions, travel coordination and reimbursement, ordering supplies, inventory control and reconciliation of invoices.
- Ensures Federal law and Department CDL policies and procedures are followed. Including oversight of CDL random drug testing process, coordinating training and policy maintenance. Generates reports to identify employees for random drug testing and ensures the testing process is followed. Ensures that all CDL drivers submit annual updated confidential medical information (federal requirement), reviews the information, and notifies the HR Chief of any changes that impact CDL status.
- Acts as agency on-boarding coordinator and ensures that all new hires have a positive experience from time of offer through completion of training and orientation. This includes completing all paperwork appropriate to the assignment, keeping candidates informed of status changes and answering their questions, and working with facilities to ensure that new hires have appropriate badge access.
- Intake and triage of HR concerns from employees and applicants while resolving routine issues and elevating more complex concerns as appropriate.
