This is an exceptional opportunity to join an early-stage development team in the Advanced Technology business unit. We are seeking a Senior level Engineer to build essential testing capabilities to evaluate various sensor technologies, as well as aid in developing new-to-the-world medical devices built using microfabrication technology.

You will make an impact by...
Conceptualizing, designing, optimizing and validating custom early R&D test capabilities and methods. Working closely with internal and external resources and use your leadership skills from conceptualization to installation and qualification. Demonstrating capacity to hands-on design and build custom electromechanical tools and devices is critical.
Taking the initiative in conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing both internal and external resources to innovate new test methodologies and creating specialized fixtures for enhanced multimodal testing capabilities.
Collaborating closely with the team to define comprehensive testing requirements and specifications, ensuring a robust framework for evaluating device performance under various environmental and aging conditions.
Collaboration with personnel from several groups and coordination with external partners and internal stakeholders
Employing advanced analytical techniques to process and then interpret test results, which are crucial for defining and refining product and process specifications.
Providing support in animal laboratory settings, applying and enhancing in-vivo test methods to bridge the gap between bench-top research and real-world, clinical applications.
Leading briefings and internal presentations of progress and results
What you'll need:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in EE/ME/BME/Physics with 4+ years of related work experience
- Specific type of Bachelor’s degree is less important that having broad interests and skills in electromechanical devices.
- Minimum 3-5 years of closely related work experience in a testing lab environment is desirable.
- Medical device experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in constructing, debugging, and fine-tuning test benches, leveraging a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical components for optimal testing setups.
- Genuine curiosity to explore cutting-edge technologies with the goal of applying these advancements to improve patient care.
- Cross disciplinary interests in EE, ME, Physics, and Bioengineering / Biomedical Engineering, indicating a versatile skill set capable of addressing complex engineering challenges encountered as implantable devices become smaller.
- A working knowledge of data analysis and signal processing methods using MATLAB, Python, Excel, Minitab.
- CAD software tools: Solidworks, AutoCAD, Altium Designer desirable
- Hands-on experience with data acquisition and proficiency in related software tools, including LabVIEW, to capture and analyze experimental data accurately.
- Working understanding of statistical techniques and related tools
- Excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.
For California, the base pay range for this position is $103,000 to $146,000 (highly experienced).
