Where the chemistry happens…
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a professional like you within our Care Chemicals Division. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining demands in demand planning and supply network planning (SNP) within North America for all finished goods and be responsible for the continuous improvement of our BASF demand planning systems and processes applied to streamline activities. You will manage the supply and inventory balance for the Strategic Key Raw Materials portfolio, utilizing SAP R3 and APO top meet customer and business requirements and support planning of raw materials to each of the production facilities. You will be responsible for managing the company owned and leased railcar fleet for Care Chemicals.
Additionally, you will lead Demand/Supply Chain projects to improve forecasting and support the S&OP process and coordinate demand planning activities throughout the cross functional groups within Care Chemicals.
As a Team Leader, Demand Planning, You Create Chemistry By...
- Leveraging your education and work experience (preferably in Supply Chain, IT or a business-related area), you will act as the leader for the Care Chemicals Demand Planning Team (one direct report), charged with improving the overall forecasting process to better serve our customers across the industries we serve.
- Focusing on North America and providing additional help to Asia, South America, and Europe, you will act as process and application expert for both Demand Planning, ELM (Extended Location Mapping) and SNP, including all 3 types of demand: 3rd Party, Transfer and Export.
- As a working lead, you will be responsible for Demand Planning monthly cycle and activities for one of our businesses and will be a key Stakeholder very involved in the S&OP meetings and process.
- Your solid problem-solving skills will aid you in providing second level support for technical and business issues for all regions. Additionally, you will investigate and provide resolution for forecast issues and drive the continuous improvement process (including developing action plans).
- Your project management skills will be useful as you manage, maintain, and monitor the demand planning process including 3rd Party, Transfer, Export and Financial Forecast.
- Being highly detail oriented, you will investigate end-user questions/issues regarding the “accuracy” of the data.
- Utilizing your robust analytical skills, you will analyze the Demand Planning System’s forecast, as well as Transfer and Export from SNP, and provide direction/assistance on how to improve performance. You will also review Transfer and Export Data – analyzing, making recommendations, communicating, and implementing changes.
- Your strong communication skills will serve you well as you obtain information regarding future demand and analyze, communicate, and implement accordingly. Additionally, you will distribute information for Asia, South America and Europe accordingly.
