Role Summary

As our Senior P&C Underwriter, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing Corgi’s underwriting strategy. You’ll bring deep technical expertise in property & casualty risk evaluation and combine it with a forward-looking mindset to help us design scalable, compliant, and competitive underwriting frameworks. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead underwriting strategy across multiple P&C product lines

  • Develop and refine risk appetite, underwriting guidelines, and frameworks that enable automation and scalability

  • Collaborate with actuarial, product, regulatory, and operations teams to launch and manage new insurance products

  • Provide expert input into regulatory filings and respond to inquiries from state insurance departments

  • Monitor portfolio performance and implement adjustments to maintain profitability and risk integrity

  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert to junior underwriters as the team expands

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of P&C underwriting experience, preferably in commercial lines

  • Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements

  • Demonstrated experience launching or expanding insurance products or programs

  • Ability to balance traditional underwriting discipline with innovative, technology-driven approaches

  • Exceptional judgment, analytical ability, and attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
