Job Description:

What You’ll Do

Create and execute a Discover Home Loans (DHL) quality assurance strategy, including unifying all testing practices across the organization.

Quality Assurance Strategy

  • Drive product (DHL origination platform and interfaces) quality as measured by improvement in number of issues, incidents and eProbs.
  • Define best practices and seek continuous improvement in work by quality assurance teams, with an objective to root out product issues through testing and risk mitigation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on quality assurance process and support DHL teams with testing strategy and best practices.
  •  Take ownership of optimizing testing infrastructure, including testing automation and 3rd party vendor tools e.g. DMS and Docutech.

Process and communication management.

  • Establish a dependable communication process, including reporting on release progress to leadership.
  • Align DHL on a quality strategy, including vision, improvement levers, plan for execution/roadmap, infrastructure needs, expected cost/investment, etc.
  • Define and maintain quality metrics, including trend analysis of impact from new, recuring, and dormant issues/incidents/eProbs.
  • Act as a key participant in DHL issue management process, identifying risks and contributing mitigation strategies.
  • Host problem solving sessions and advocating for quality e.g. no repeat issues/eProbs.

Other

  • Develop and coach personnel to understand and perform the Quality Assurance tasks and processes. Manages team workload, participates in agile team events to assist with assessing system impacts and business implication of issues, driving appropriate testing planning and execution.
  • Helps ensure deliverables are completed according to agile milestones.
  • Supports team members in actively managing and escalating risk.
  • Drives continuous improvement of the process to create efficiencies.

How You’ll Do It

  • Manages workload and administrative activities of the team. Reports project and process status updates. Raises concerns to management.
  • Ensures consistency of Quality Assurance processes. Manages test documentation, execution, and approvals within defined timeline. Ensures test compliance with standards, security, compliance requirements, and procedures.
  • Contributes to the development of the test automation strategies and supports the development of the team and testing process improvements.

Qualifications You’ll Need

The Basics

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Project Management, Information Technology
  • 6+ years of User testing, Project Management, or related experience
  • In lieu of a degree: 8+ years User testing, Project Management, or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of people management experience

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
