What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a SR Lab Technician in the Dalton, Ga area. In this role, you are responsible for gathering samples of daily production and perform physical evaluations to determine quality and anticipated performance.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee & Guide Head Dye Lab Tech in building schedules
- Coordinates with planning to build a production schedule for the line.
- Plans Dye Line production schedule.
- Organize daily schedules and dye blocks
- Organize “TPR” trials
- Review and execute master plan
- Oversee header leader usage
- Oversee PD/SR samples
- Layout reverse/shear production
- Organize reworks and reprocesses
- Review DNA, held rolls and Q6(potential off quality)
- Retrieve representative samples of daily production for testing.
- Retrieve, verify, and retain certificates of analysis for purchased raw materials.
- Retain samples of daily production and log test results for future reference.
- Compile data and graphs reflecting production results and dissimulate to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare samples and arrange further physical testing with outside independent laboratories.
- Perform reel testing, color matching and coordinates runs on the line.
- Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
- Follow all established standard operating procedures
- Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
- Perform other tasks assigned by management
What you have:
- At least 1 year of experience in inventory, color/dyeing field, or planning.
- High school/GED required.
- Knowledge of colors and chemicals, sufficient knowledge to test products and communicate to other employees about this information
- Basic Excel knowledge; logging inventory information into Excel sheets, using conversion formulas, sharing data to necessary groups
- Knowledge in running programs, software, and systems such as AS400, spectrographs, JD Edwards System/Cardex Program
What you’re good at:
- Ability to utilize the AS400 system, Lotus Notes email software, Word documents, and spreadsheets. <
