The Clinical Specialty Coordinator in Urology coordinates a service line caring for a high-acuity patient population of all ages. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, applying clinical judgment, monitoring patient status, and developing appropriate care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. This role serves as the clinical expert and strong unit leader, supporting the service line through unit and system leadership activities.The Coordinator applies advanced clinical knowledge of the specialty and is required to scrub and/or circulate. They develop a core curriculum with the clinical educator and system education teams, oversee staff orientation, and facilitate ongoing education and evaluation programs. This role also acts as a role model, resource person, and member of the management team, always aligning with the organization’s Mission and Vision.Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate care for high-acuity patients within the Urology service line.
- Perform extensive assessments and provide clinical judgment to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Serve as the clinical expert and resource for assigned staff, providing leadership and guidance.
- Develop and oversee staff orientation, ongoing education, and competency evaluations.
- Support unit and system leadership activities to ensure quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
- Act as a role model and resource, promoting evidence-based practices and professional standards.
- Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Nursing preferred.
- Current state of Indiana RN license required.
- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department policies.
- Clinical experience in high-acuity care preferred.
- Ability to develop educational curricula and serve as a role model for staff.
