As a Cost Analyst, you will be integral to managing daily costs and long-term business planning at our Pasadena site. You will lead effective cost management strategies, support routine maintenance, and oversee fixed and some non-fixed cost items. A key aspect of your role will be ensuring accuracy in monthly and yearly forecasting.
As a Maintenance Cost Analyst, Pasadena, TX, you create chemistry by...
- Managing the daily creation and approval of Purchase Requisitions, Work Orders, and Work Cycles (invoices).
- Reviewing invoices and Field Change Orders (FCOs), managing contingency drawdowns, estimating builds, and handling cost reporting and forecasting.
- Overseeing monthly and yearly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy in cost projections and timely updates to financial models.
- Onboarding new vendors into BASF/Pasadena processes, including setting up and reviewing vendor bill rates.
- Conducting budget status reviews, analyzing committed costs, and monitoring PO status to ensure budget variances are identified and addressed.
- Serving as the SAP expert for the maintenance team, providing training and support to junior planners as needed.
- Ensuring the 2 Ethyl Hexanol (2-EH) and DOTP plants operate efficiently to meet daily capacity requirements.
If you...
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (strongly preferred).
- Count with at least 5 years of experience as a cost analyst.
- Are proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
- Are skilled in processing accruals and correctly settling costs to Work Orders (WO) and Purchase Orders (PO).
- Count with experience managing multiple contract vendors, analyzing cost trends, and presenting findings.
- Have experience working in a chemical manufacturing site.
- Possess proven ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
