Post-Graduate Psychiatric APP in Training - Outpatient
The Post-Graduate Psychiatric APP in Training program is designed for individuals hired into Endeavor Health Medical Group as an Advanced Practice Nurse or a Physician Assistant. The fellowship program provides enhanced education and training prior to independent work in psychiatry at Endeavor Health’s entire system of Behavioral Health.
MISSION AND VISION
The mission of the Post-Graduate Psychiatric APP in Training program is to provide enhanced psychiatric training before transition into a full-time advanced practice provider role.
The vision of the Post-Graduate Psychiatric APP in Training program is to increase patient access, expand the psychiatric provider workforce, and develop individuals who treat patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
The Post-Graduate Psychiatric APP in Training program focuses on collaboration with highly skilled experts in behavioral health. The program strives to be convenient and educational for Advanced Practice Professionals who are preparing to practice independently.
FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FORMAT
- Upon hire, the APP will be matched with a collaborative provider aligned with his or her assigned area of practice and an initial meeting will be scheduled during orientation.
- The in-person program can be completed in approximately 8 weeks, tailored to individual training needs. Program areas of focus are specific to our levels of care:
- Orientation Weeks 1-3: Inpatient training at Linden Oaks Behavioral Hospital. Weeks 4-6: Partial hospitalization training. Weeks 7-8: Office clinic training.
EMPLOYMENT EXPECTATIONS
- The Post-Graduate Psychiatric APP in Training program requires the successful completion of a master’s or Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
- Applicants must meet all employment requirements, which includes passing the board exam prior to hire.
- Nurse Practitioners are required to obtain a post master’s certificate in mental health
- DEA or Controlled Substance Eligible
