Cyber Software Engineering, SME

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer SME (Lvl 2.5) to support our Cyber Mission business unit located in Annapolis Junction, MD. The team supports multiple products that automate manual tasks so that mission customers can focus on more complex issues. The team employs Agile methodologies and DevOps principles to ensure that high-quality, reliable software is delivered to the customer. The position is to be performed in Peraton’s contractor facility which allows for flexible work schedules. In addition, the opportunity for teleworking is available based on tasking and customer approval.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with the following: 
  • Java
  • Docker  
  • Mongo   
  • Git  
  • Linux 
  • Account Management and access control
  • API implementation
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required
• Seventeen (17) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Four (4) years demonstrated experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++, etc.
• A minimum six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent 8 years developing production . 
• Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful service.
• Familiarity with cloud development techniques, resources, and tools.
• At least three (3) years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems.
• Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nginx

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
