Lead DevOps Engineer

We seek a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our team and help drive the organization's efforts to maintain SOC 2 compliance, optimize costs, and improve engineering velocity. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS and a track record of success in implementing DevOps best practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the organization's IT systems and infrastructure meet the requirements for SOC 2 compliance. This may involve implementing security controls, monitoring systems for security vulnerabilities, and conducting regular audits.
• Optimize costs by identifying and implementing ways to reduce expenses related to IT infrastructure and operations. This may involve negotiating with vendors, implementing automation, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Improve engineering velocity by implementing processes and tools that enable teams to deliver software more efficiently. This may involve setting up continuous integration and delivery pipelines, implementing infrastructure as code, and adopting agile development methodologies.
• Mentor and coach other members of the DevOps team, and serve as a subject matter expert on DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with other teams, such as development and product, to ensure that systems are designed and operated in a way that maximizes efficiency and reliability.
• Identify and implement new technologies and approaches that can help the organization meet its goals.
• Participate in the design and implementation of IT systems and infrastructure, including cloud-based systems.
• Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis to identify and address issues that impact the availability, performance, and security of systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer.
• 3+ years of experience as a Lead DevOps engineer.
• Extensive experience with AWS, including expertise in at least one of the following areas: EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS and SnowFlake
• Experience implementing security controls and monitoring systems for security vulnerabilities.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and continuous integration and delivery.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
