OnsiteReporting to the General Manager and Director of Operations (Site Lead), the Senior Manager, EHS & Continuous Improvement plays a critical leadership role in driving a world-class safety culture, ensuring compliance, and advancing sustainability initiatives. This role is responsible for shaping and executing strategic EH&S policies that safeguard employees, operations, and the environment while fostering a proactive, safety-first mindset.
Beyond safety and compliance, this position leads Continuous Improvement, Process Optimization, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the Fort Worth Military Landing Gear site. By spearheading efficiency-driven transformations, you will enhance operational performance, streamline workflows, and instill a culture of continuous improvement—ultimately positioning the site for long-term success in a demanding, high-performance industry. You will travel <10% as needed.
What YOU Will Do
Environmental, Health, & Safety
Champion the EHS "Choose Zero" culture across the site, driving compliance, training, and continuous improvement.
Lead and develop a small team (3+) while collaborating with peers to ensure effective program execution using leader standard work, functional reviews, and performance plans.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Serve as the site’s regulatory and compliance expert.
Develop and manage EH&S training programs to meet compliance needs (e.g., confined space, respiratory protection, ergonomics, machine guarding, electrical safety, LOTO).
Maintain and organize all site EH&S documentation in a standard repository, eliminating outdated systems.
Lead the Site EH&S Council and champion related subcommittees.
Manage injury and illness programs, including case management and return to work.
Oversee environmental programs, including wastewater and air permitting, RCRA waste management, and sustainability best practices.
Drive EH&S performance improvements through audits, inspections, and corrective actions, ensuring closure of findings.
Conduct regulatory reporting and interface with government agencies for audits, permits, and compliance submissions.
Communicate EHS requirements across all levels, including senior and executive leadership, supervisors, and shop floor personnel.
Lead the site training program and oversee Program Evaluation and Assurance Review processes.
CORE & Continuous Improvement (CI) Leadership:
Guide and direct the CORE/CI team, ensuring alignment with site and EHS strategic goals.
Partner with leadership to drive a culture of CORE/CI excellence, enhancing competency and engagement across the organization.
Develop and implement best practices to improve processes, increase efficiency, and sustain long-term improvements.
Measure and drive CORE/CI progression, ensuring continuous advancement through key metrics and initiatives.
Support and influence cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration across all levels, including external stakeholders when necessary.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance CORE/CI capabilities across the business.
Oversee complex projects and transformations, ensuring impactful outcomes while managing resources effectively.
Facilitate key improvement initiatives such as kaizen events and leadership weeks, supporting operational excellence strategies.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
