Supply Chain Analytics Intern

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position Overview:

Novelis in Atlanta, GA has an opportunity to participate in our summer 2025 internship. Novelis is looking for a supply chain intern to apply academic learnings in the supply chain, data, and analytics domains to solve real-world supply chain problems within North America. As the world’s leading provider of flat rolled aluminum, Novelis operates a complex integrated network across North America.  This integrated network is directed by the North America supply chain team, responsible for planning both long-term planning (Sales & Operational Plan as well as short term scheduling, and sequencing of the manufacturing processes.  In addition, the supply chain is responsible for inventory control/management and ensuring that the customers get their orders on time. Finally, the supply chain is responsible for the logistics of moving the material to the customer.

 

Responsibilities:

• Learn the systems that the supply chain teams use (SAP APO, SAP ECC, Quintiq Maco Planner)
• Document supply chain processes and formulate ideas to improve/automate processes
• Analyzes large amounts of data and deliver insights from descriptive statistics
• Build dashboards to visualize those insights
• Collaborate across various teams to validate ideas and insights
• Form presentations and present ideas & insights to various stakeholders

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

• Junior or Senior studying one of the following majors Industrial Engineering, MIS, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience with programming language (Python, SQL, R, MatLab, Java, VBA)
• Competent in Excel conducting ad-hoc analysis and familiar with VBA
• Exposure to visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, Sisense, etc)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Work experience demonstrating organizational skills and leadership responsibilities
• Understanding of basic supply chain principles

Preferred Qualifications:

• Six Sigma belt certified (yellow or green)
• PowerBI / PowerApps experience
• Exposure to SAP supply chain t-codes
• Knowledgeable in statistics (hypothesis testing, linear regression, ANOVA)
