Raytheon’s Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit (SBU) specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors, and cyber solutions. What You Will Do

• Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for cutting-edge satellite ground systems.
• Work with talented teams of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.

What You Will Learn

• A breadth of advanced software technologies and techniques including multi-tiered architectures, AWS web services, and microservice software design.
• Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.
• Software lifecycle practices for large-scale defense projects.
• Satellite ground system technologies including command & telemetry, flight dynamics, planning, and scheduling, and spacecraft operations.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior, relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience developing object-oriented software using Java.
• Experience developing software in a Linux environment.
• Experience with containerization (i.e., Kubernetes).
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket.
• An active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience developing software using C++, rust, and Python.
• Experience using Agile methodology.
• Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management, vehicle planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics.
• Experience with software integration, cloud architecture, infrastructure/platform as a service, microservices, and web-based systems.
• Experience with AMMP, Cucumber, GIT, Khaos, Oracle, Postgres, SonarQube, Weblogic, WIGS/Angular.
• Experience with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.
