JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State York is accepting applications for a part time Head Cross Country coach.

Position Overview: The Head Cross Country Coach leads and manages Penn State York's cross country program, focusing on coaching, training, recruiting, and fostering a positive team environment. This role supports the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Coaching and Training:

• Develop and implement training programs.
• Conduct practices and conditioning sessions.
• Provide individualized coaching.

Recruitment and Retention:

• Recruit talented high school athletes.
• Maintain relationships with high school coaches and prospective students.

Program Management:

• Ensure compliance with all PSUAC and USCAA rules and regulations.

Leadership and Mentorship:

• Foster a positive team culture.
• Serve as a role model and mentor.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of cross country training.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Evening, weekend work, and travel required.

This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US 
driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required 
in addition to standard background checks.
