Scientific Systems Products Division is looking to fill a Mid-Level Modelling & Simulation Engineer position in the area of Autonomy and Uncrewed Systems. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing digital models and analyzing space, air, and ground-based systems to advance AI/ML programs relating to autonomous flight systems and crewed-uncrewed systems collaboration.

Job Duties:
- Develop digital models, of complex real-world systems using commercial and proprietary software tools.
- Design, build, and execute constructive simulations by using provided software tools and applying design of experiments best practices.
- Analyze and synthesize large data sets with various analytic frameworks and statistical methods.
- Visualize data sets using Excel, Python, or R
- Support the preparation of deliverables (presentations, written reports, etc.) to communicate analysis-based findings and recommendations to sponsors and stakeholders.
- Balance tasks across multiple projects concurrently and regularly communicate progress or challenges to task leads.
- Develop, conduct, and coordinate high-priority planning and in-depth data analyses of major project assignments.
- Provide system performance/effectiveness analyses to support the development of algorithmic behaviors.
- Support integrated flight testing of unmanned aerial, surface, undersea, and ground platforms.
- Assist in test planning and design process by identifying test data requirements, working with instrumentation engineers to establish how to collect required data to ensure data integrity, assist in collecting and/or downloading data, and reducing data in preparation for analysis.
- Participate in software development and review test run cards, participate in program technical reviews, and attend mission briefs and debriefs
- Support test missions’ execution and conducts real-time quick look evaluation of test results.
- Post-mission, assist in obtaining and delivering data to appropriate agencies, participate in review of flight test data and videos, accomplish data validation/verification to ensure data integrity and accuracy, identify and/or coordinate flight test data analysis required for isolating test anomalies.
- Review flight test reports for anomaly investigation, technical solution development and coordination.
- Analyze, identify, and evaluate issues and coordinate recommendations to resolve substantive and critical problems and issues.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Must have active SECRET clearance (or above).
- Proficiency with standard DoD M&S Frameworks (AFSIM preferred)
- 4+ years of experience and Bachelors (or above) degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physical Science, Operations Research, or Data Science
- Must be able to effectively communicate orally and possess technical writing skills
- Must be able to work effectively as part of a test team
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with Open Mission Systems (OMS)
- Experience with systems/software engineering processes, including development tools, configuration management, SysML/UML, DevOps, and test/QA methods
- Experience working with operational or developmental test organizations is highly desired.
- Master’s degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physical Science, Operations Research, Data Science, or related field
- Proficiency with other simulation tools (e.g. STK, NRL Builder, MATLAB Simulink)
