Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Women’s Basketball Head Coach, the Executive Assistant to the Head Coach provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship. The Executive Assistant to the Head Coach serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Head Coach. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
Essential Functions:
- Plan, organize and coordinate the administrative aspects of the Head Coach’s office functions.
- Provide direction and prioritization standards for the screening of the Head Coach’s mail, email, and appointments using expert judgment and knowledge.
- Anticipate Head Coach’s needs and proactively bring together appropriate people and other resources to support the Head Coach in addressing issues.
- May represent Duke and/or the Head Coach on internal or external committees.
- Responsible for executing various projects as directed by the Head Coach.
- Support planning and logistics for recruiting visits and special events.
- Oversee all student managers and practice players within the women’s basketball program.
- Adhere to NCAA and ACC rules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience working in college athletics or a comparable field
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and the ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently
- Knowledge of principles and techniques relative to athletic department communication
- Ability to handle confidential information

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Requires bachelor's degree.
Experience
Significant experience in intercollegiate athletics as a student-athlete and/or coach.
