The Consultant offers a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing team and help shape it from the from the beginning - bringing with it all opportunities, for a dedicated and committed candidate, for accelerated career growth.  The Senior Refinery Process Consultant will work closely with the Early Advisory Delivery Management team in United States to develop client relationships, win chargeable business consulting work and lead the execution of client facing consulting projects.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Delivery Manager and local resources planner on project requirements to maximize utilization. 

  • Business travel as required to make regular in-person visits to refineries, terminals, processing plants, and petrochemical facilities in the USA Gulf Coast vicinity.

  • Build and maintain relationships with plant managers, project engineers, operations leaders, and procurement contacts.

  • Speak credibly about capital projects, turnarounds, process improvements, and engineering challenges—because you’ve lived them.

  • Communicate Genesis Energies’ capabilities, service offerings, and project experience in a way that resonates with technical decision-makers.

  • Stay in consistent contact with your network—phone calls, job site drop-ins, lunches—to keep Genesis top of mind when opportunities arise.

  • Identify and relay project leads, upcoming capital work, and procurement needs back to the Genesis team.

  • Provide feedback from the field to help Genesis refine its messaging, positioning, and service offerings.

  • Advise on the development and execution of major capital projects ($5MM–$600MM+), from conceptual feasibility study through Front End Loading (FEL), FEED detailed engineering design to construction and maintenance operations.
  • Provide technical and strategic guidance to project managers, engineers, and operations teams to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Review project plans, budgets, schedules, and contractor deliverables for quality and feasibility.
  • Support long-range capital planning, integrating business strategy with operational priorities.
  • Mentor engineering and operations staff, transferring industry knowledge and best practices.
  • Assist with troubleshooting complex operational or technical challenges in midstream and refining facilities.
  • Offer input on process safety management, regulatory compliance, and advanced process control projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have progressive career starting as a Process Engineer to refinery Project Management. 
  • Deep understanding of Front-End Loading (FEL) process scope for downstream refineries energy transition, renewable and energy conservation projects. 
  • Familiarity in new technologies related to the energy transition in Carbon Capture, Green and Blue Hydrogen
  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical years of experience.
  • Proven track record overseeing multi-million-dollar projects, managing multidisciplinary teams, and delivering on time and within budget.
