Overview
The Kreamer Family Resource Center Assistant provides a welcoming environment and ensures that each guest to the Center is connected with resources, information and supportive services.

Project RISE
Project RISE (Reaching for Independent Successful Employment) creates employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities through:

Qualifications for Project RISE
A person with a disability who identifies of having a physical or mental impairment, which creates a barrier to employment, and who needs Supported Employment services to reach successful employment.
We expect that individuals are able to perform assigned tasks independently after the supported employment period.
What is Supported Employment: Support Employment is ongoing supports provided to individuals and their employers who, because of their disabilities, need intensive on-going support to maintain a job in competitive or customized employment, or self-employment, in an integrated work setting.
This is achieved by providing on-the-job training in work and work-related skills; i.e. job coaching to facilitate the acquisition, and ongoing performance, of the essential functions of the job and the facilitation of natural supports (i.e. fading). Ongoing retention, supervision and monitoring of the person's performance; i.e. evaluating self-maintenance strategies, work production and the effectiveness of natural supports (i.e. fading) which promote the greatest degree of inclusion, integration and autonomy. Training in related skills needed to retain employment; i.e. supporting and facilitating strategies which promote attendance and social inclusion in the workplace based upon individualized assessed need such as using community resources and public transportation

Because we value the safety of the patients and families we serve, as well as the Children’s Mercy staff, we want to let you know that the seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment for all employees in our organization. New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and orient visitors to the resources and equipment available in the Resource Center.
- Assess immediate needs for families and provide appropriate intervention.
- Maintain Resource Center environment, equipment and resources.
- Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor or designee.
- Complete mandatory employee education requirements and participate in additional learning opportunities through Project RISE.
Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years experience Experience in a position requiring extensive contact with the public, customer service or in a human services setting qualifies as related work experience. Education beyond high school in an area related to human services may be substituted for required work
