Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Child Development, the Director of Family & Student Support Services performs a variety of administrative and coordination responsibilities to ensure families and children have a supportive and positive experience within our program, and receive full access/participation within our classrooms and all program services. Ability to use tact and diplomacy to effectively handle a broad range of high level and sensitive interpersonal situations with diverse populations and to respond appropriately to conflict and problems. Ability to initiate, establish and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work environment. Ability to establish effective working relationships within a diverse population and with those from various cultural backgrounds.

- Engage all families in meaningful partnerships to support their child’s optimal learning and development.
- Develop positive relationships with parents and families to engage them in the IEP/IFSP process and keep them updated on student progress.
- Utilize the Five Protective Factors to promote optimal child development and build strong families.
- Link families to local resource and social service agencies.
- Partner with Site Supervisors to ensure that strategies and goals listed in Individual Education Plans (IEP) Individual Family Services Plans (IFSP) are explained to and supported by staff.
- Support Site Directors and Lead Teachers with referrals based upon ASQ/ASQ-SE results and parent feedback.
- Schedule with Sites directors’ days and times for the inclusion team to conduct classroom observation based on concerns from screenings, assessment, parental concerns.
- Partner with Site Director to provide family support through meetings and communication, including difficult conversations meant to solve conflict and complaints.
- Partner with Behavior Specialist and Site Director in following the referral process including assisting families through the process and any follow up steps.
- Advocate, as appropriate for the rights of the children with disabilities or additional needs and their families.
- Maintain and update assigned files of children with inclusion needs as required.
- Work on-site between locations to partner with Site Directors in supporting staff and families for inclusion services.
- Attends training about current trends in inclusion support developmental and behavioral needs.
- Maintain and update department Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with contracted partners, state and licensing requirements.
- Supervise and manage a team of Behavior Specialists, a Disability Coordinator, and work directly with an inhouse licensed Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant.
Student Support: Data Analysis
Participate in meetings to advise on the use of data to identify students for tiered intervention.
- Monitor and support the follow up of all referrals including community resources, in-house interventions and classroom modifications in ChildPlus database system.
- Monitors, develop and report outcomes and objectives to ensure data is current, accurate, and supports agency and stakeholder needs and contract compliance.
- Submit monthly productivity and compliance reports to the Director of Child Development.
- Ensure all referrals are accurately captured in all web-based program systems.
- Review all IEPs and IFSPs summaries of goals to ensure clear language and implementation in the classroom.
- Lead individual case conference for possible enrollment for children with an IEP/IFSP.
- Engage in higher level interim support and strategies for severe children awaiting services.
