In addition to a portfolio of discovery-stage ADCs, our pipeline includes AL102, a gamma secretase inhibitor which is currently in a Phase 3 trial for treatment of desmoid tumors, as well as IM-1021, a ROR1 ADC, and IM-3050, a FAP-targeted radioligand, both of which are the subject of INDs expected to be submitted in the first quarter of 2025.

Position Overview

The Senior Scientist in Bioconjugation will play a pivotal role in advancing our drug development pipeline. You will design, generate, and characterize ADCs to be used for named programs and collaborate closely with colleagues to contribute valuable bioconjugation insights to advance therapeutic products. Additionally, you will design and execute experiments to expand our bioconjugation toolbox with novel and innovative technologies.

Responsibilities

Research Design and Execution:

• Generate high quality ADCs to enable advancement of named programs.
• Optimize processes and produce multi-gram scale ADCs to support discovery studies. 
• Support stability studies of lead ADCs for named programs. 
• Lead efforts to evaluate innovative bioconjugation technologies.
• Design and execute experiments to establish platform bioconjugation technologies.
• Work with cross-functions such as biology and CMC to ensure seamless transfer of material and information.
• Independently execute laboratory experiments, following established protocols and ensuring the highest standards of scientific rigor.
• Design processes to increase effectiveness of experimental results.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

• Proficient in characterization of molecular attributes of ADCs using various techniques, such as analytical SEC, HIC, PLRP, and LC-MS. 
• Interpret results and draw meaningful conclusions to guide decision-making.
• Troubleshoot reactions of complex nature.

Project Collaboration:

• Coordinate with downstream Process Development team for data and knowledge transfer of late-stage research programs. 
• Update project teams with experimental results that will influence optimal bioconjugation design of a novel therapeutic. 
• Collaborate with colleagues from diverse scientific disciplines to achieve project goals.
• Participate in project team meetings, providing expertise and insights to drive projects forward.

Continuous Learning and Development:

• Stay informed about the latest bioconjugation advancements in the ADC field.
• Proactively seek opportunities for professional development and contribute to the scientific growth of the research team.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience for Bachelor’s, 8 years of experience for Master’s, or 5 years for Ph.D. in preclinical drug development in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
• Demonstrated experience in bioconjugation techniques, including production of high-quality large-scale ADCs is required. 

Knowledge and Skills

• Expertise in utilizing ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF) for bioconjugation purification methods. 
• Knowledge of analytical techniques, purification methods, and characterization of bioconjugates.
• Experience in ADC development, antibody engineering, and protein modification is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate scientific concepts to non-scientific stakeholders.
• Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
