We are currently looking for a Senior SOX Compliance Analyst to join our team

What  you can expect in this role:

Reporting to the Director – Internal Controls and Financial Reporting, the Senior SOX Compliance Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the implementation, maintenance, design and the monitoring of all the aspects of our ICFR program (SOX), as well as the preparation and review of certain month-end close processes and other special projects.

More specifically, here are some of the key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the overall ICFR program, including the risk assessment, the design and the testing of internal controls.
  • Support process owners in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls, to ensure the significant risks pertaining to their processes are monitored.
  • Update documentation of the RCM (narratives, control descriptions, results of testing, compensatory procedures).
  • Assist in the implementation of the certification process and remediation plan, and coordination with the external audit firm to maintain SOX compliance.
  • Assist in other special projects, such as financing, systems integrations/automation, ad hoc reporting requirements and SOX requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end closing tasks and the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.

Here's the profile we're looking for:

  • CPA designation, and/or additional internal audit certifications are an asset i.e. CIA, CISA, CFE, etc.
  • 3+ years experience involving the audit and/or internal controls for public companies, Big Four experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls, including SOX.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite user (i.e. Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint).
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic and sense of ownership.
  • Team player that is also able to work independently and work well with others.
  • Flexible and adaptable; experience working in a dynamic environment would be an asset.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics, Workiva and Jet Reports would be an asset).
