POSITION TITLE: Financial Analyst

REPORTS TO: VP of PSD
DEPARTMENT: Power Solutions Division
LOCATION: Canonsburg, PA
STATUS: Exempt
Position Description Summary
The Financial Analyst will be crucial in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making within our service organization.
Essential Functions
- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting to support business decisions.
- Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to PSD management, PTT finance departments, and stakeholders.
- Budgeting: Assist in developing and monitoring budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Data Management: Maintain and update financial databases, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze costs and identify cost savings and efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards and assist with internal and external audits.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various internal departments to gather financial data and provide financial insights to support operational efficiency.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc financial project and product analysis as management requires.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Excellent knowledge of financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within a manufacturing and service organization.
Physical Job Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- May need a high level of concentration in a busy area.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Office dress is business casual.
