- Design and commissioning of ultrahigh temperature measurements systems
- Candidates with experience in materials science, mechanical engineering and related fields are needed to design and build high temperature materials characterization and properties measurements systems to track oxidation and thermal expansion. Activities will include design and integration of laser interferometers, optical systems, and/or direct-contact mechanical loads to understand materials responses up to ~2000°c. The PORA will work closely with faculty, other postdocs, laboratory technicians, graduate students and scientists from outside laboratories.
